At Duck River Romagnola we strive to raise top of the line Romagnola cattle. Please take a few minutes to look through our website photo gallery and read about the history of the Romagnola Breed.
The Romagnola Breed has several interesting proven facts.
*They have proven to have lean, tender meat.
*They are high yielding in the feedlot.
*Excellent cross on all breeds.
*Low birth weights, early maturing.
*Fast weight gain on grass.
*Tested highest of all the continental breeds for the
Tenderness Gene.
Check out our website to see Cobalt- our new Romangus bull calf. (Romagnola / Angus mix) You will see that breeding a black skinned, white haired bull to an Angus will indeed produce black calves, and will add muscle better than an Angus bull!
At Duck River Romagnola we believe our cattle would be an asset to your herd.
Romagnola is one of the larger breeds in the U.S. and is known for the ability to search for and survive on limited grazing range. The cows are white to light gray, while the bulls have more intense coloring; the neck and the area around the eyes are dark, the skin is black and the hair white. Calves are reddish golden in their first months of life. They are extremely well muscled, are tolerant of both heat and cold, have good dispositions and reach sexual maturity relatively early for a large breed. Rapid gain, economical feed conversion, good dressing percentages and a good quality carcass are traits.
